Thorncroft Thorn Road Bearsden Glasgow c1938

Can anyone advice me how to identify residents of Thorncroft , Thorn Road in Bearsden Glasgow 1938.

My grandmother Winifred Heron was a servant/domestic for a Doctor on Thorn Road when she married in 1938 and Id like to identify the property and see if its still standing if possible.

Could it be Thorn Drive?

Just double checked with my mum and she has now found the wedding certificate and it is in fact THORN ROAD.......the full details are;

Thorn Road

A witness to the wedding lived at ST ANDREWS Thorn Road and she was probably a domestic too.

I'm impressed with that find Sancti I have lived in the area for 40 plus years without knowing what the names of the big old houses were (without actually going to look and see if there is a name plate ).  Pricey - Other than extensions or new houses built in what was the garden the houses on the this road have not changed very much. You can get a reasonable idea by using Google streetview.

The local library might have copies of the electoral rolls from that time - might be worth phoning them to ask?

The web site is http://www.edlc.co.uk/libraries.aspx and the library in Kirkintilloch is the central library for the area. Brookwood library in Bearsden is certainly closer but I am not sure how much of the historical information it holds.

Him...some time ago you found me a link for a house i was searching for Thorncroft, Thorn Road, Bearsden and you sent me above link...i am traveling up to Glasgow next week to find the address but the link doesn't work any more...can you guide me in right direction how to recover that link??? Thanks
