8 St Clements Lane, Dundee - Lodging House? **completed**

I'm trying to ascertain what sort of a place this was, I have an ancestor who was an inmate - along with 25 other men and maybe as many women - at the time of the 1911 census.

William N Falconer was the Proprietor and his occupation was Lodging House Keeper.

Can anyone add anything to this?

According to this document, in 1846 No.8 was the Harrow Tavern....

It was an industrial school in 1861 see top entry on page 1.....

It was at one point an industrial school.....

However it was also used as a convalescent house for the sick (TB cases were very high during this time therefore a possibility)
