Missing Man!! COMPLETED-REVISITED

I am looking for Michael J Bontoft who was born in 1946, his father was Jonathon Bontoft and his mother was Nelly Dawson who was Jonathon's (known as Jack) housekeeper.
Jack had five children with his wife Florrie East but she died in 1937. They were living in Thimbleby, Jack got a housekeeper and had a child with her.
I found a marriage between a Michael Bontoft and a Mary Everatt so sent for certificate but it turned out to be another Michael born in 1944 in Louth to Thomas W Bontoft and Florence Hewson.
I have been looking for the child of Jack and the housekeeper for ages, we went to Thimbleby and a stroke of luck met a lovely lady who knew the family and was able to tell me about Nelly and Michael. She thought Michael had married and gone to live at Bardney and was now deceased but this information I cannot confirm.
Has anyone any idea how I might find out anything about him?

Thanks Pauline, tried that but it seems that the other Bontoft family who lived in Hemswell have now moved to Bardney!!!
I presume the Michael Bontoft I am looking for is deceased but I just cannot understand why I cannot find any record of him unless perhaps he used his mothers name Dawson because I do not think Jack and Nelly got married.

Thanks again Marj but unfortunately this is also the other Michael, he lived in Hemswell until 2011 (I think!!) and then moved to Bardney.
I have found a Michael Bontoft and his family living in Silver Street, Bardney but I am fairly sure this is the other Michael who lives there now.
I am wondering if the lady I spoke to in Thimbleby has mixed up the family in some way because I think some of Jack's family with his wife Florrie-Herbert, Ernest, Wilfred or Gladys (the other daughter Kathleen died young) went to bardney.
Although this still does not explain why I cannot find Jack's son Michael somewhere!!
