Hi joined last night, already had great responses, what a lovely bunch of people on here !  My brain finds the site a bit hard to navigate but worth the effort. A question though - I see lists of names after some posts, are these ones the people are researching for themselves and if so how can I add similar to my own posts?  Thanks. And well done to the founders and everyone working or supporting the site. I shall tell everyone I know how good it is!

I looked at the topic you mention and it would appear that someone sent you a personal message that you may not have been able to reply to.

You need a post count of 2 or 3 to use the system which you now have.

So you can now reply to the personal message, but it would also be good if you can reply on the topic here

I know it's tricky finding your way around when you're a new poster, so check your emails for notification that a reply has been received, your profile is set that you only receive the notification of a first reply so you may miss them, but when you log in to Rootschat, there is a button at the top of the screen [New Replies], if you click on that you should also see the topic listed.
