I found it a little frustrating I need to post 3 things before I can reply to a message that is quite relevant to what I am searching for

Welcome to Rootschat, Leonie.
You can post an answer or query on a thread that is of interest. You don't need to PM someone; if you post on a thread, that person should get notification of your post.
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

Three posts isn't many and you've easily managed that - one of those posts probably concerning what you are searching for and the original poster on that thread has been online this morning so they've probably seen your post  ;)
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hello, just getting started with RootsChat. Ive been looking for a way to find others researching the same names and areas. Ill be looking for Curran's in Braade Upper near Glencolmbkille, Ireland and McLaughlin's in Templemoyle and Dunross in Culdaff Co. Donegal. Ive found both ancestors in the 1901 and 1911 census now Im trying to piece together their relatives.
McLaughlin
Curran
Holmes

Welcome to Rootschat.  :)
Right down the bottom of the page you will find Surname Interests. Click on it and you will see "quick search". Then click on the letter of the name you want.

there is also a search facility, the button is the brown strap line above inbetween Help and Moderate.

There are a few topics which include the word Braade

Hi,
Due mainly to a chance reunion with a school friend from 40 years ago I find myself delving into my family's past.
I found RootsChat by accident when following a Google search and a brief look through confirmed that it is the answer to (most of) my prayers. Even after a brief look through I have picked up so many hints and tips that would have taken me months (or years) to find out for myself.

Thanks

Rob

Hi Claire,

Thanks for the welcome. I suspect that I will be spending far too much time on here  ;)

I might as well mention my areas of interest:-Bullocks and Rayners of North and East London, McCallows of Merthyr Tydfyl (later East London) and a certain Mr Alfred Leslie Stanley Leighs, the father of my maternal grandfather's first wife (Dora Leighs). From what I have read of him so far on RootsChat he is a bit of a mystery.
Will log the above on SIT in due course.

Rob
