Balquidder Kirk Sessions
« on: Monday 10 September 12 16:37 BST (UK) »
Can anyone tell me how I can access the Kirk Sessions for Balquidder?  I am interested particularly in the years around 1865.  I am looking for a mention of my illegitimate Grandfather's mother and hopefully the unknown father.  Any help gratefully appreciated.

Hi Andy.  Thanks very much for the link to Stirling Archives.  I have contacted them by email and await their reply as to whether they can help in tracing my errant Great Grandfather!
Another point you can perhaps help with.  I have heard of "Bastardy Records" but cannot trace them on Scotlands People or elsewhere.  Any ideas?   Thanks again   Barry

Andy.  Once again Thanks.  I got a result from Stirling Archives. The nice lady there kindly looked up the appropriate records and found me the Father of my illigitimate Grandfather! So now I can proceed further with my family research.  Great!!
