Andrew Wilson,Esq..New Brighton,Wallasey..1958
« on: Thursday 13 September 12 17:58 BST (UK) »
Assistance needed,if possible.
I am looking for an ...Andrew Wilson Esq..probably born mid 1870s to early 1880 in Cheshire England.
His parents were possibly Mary and John Wilson...yeah I know, common names.
In 1958 he lived at ..#20 Seymour Street,New Brighton,Wallasey,Cheshire,England.
Would be interested in any info one could provide and /or any contact with family members.
Andrew Wilson had a brother John Wilson born c 1870/2 who came to Canada after WW1 and settled in BC Canada, where he died in 1958.
Thanks for any help

A possible birth for John William WILSON,

John William WILSON    Dec Q 1871    Wirral    8a  405

Cheshire BMD show this birth in the Eastham sub-district,

http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/index.php

Even better news, the birth I found for Andrew can be found at Lancashire BMD and it shows the sub-district as Aspull and the mother's maiden name as WALSH :)

Thanks for your replays....Heatherjulie...No.. John William Wilson was not born in Ireland he was born in England and died in Vernon BC.

Daisypetal....You info looks like it might fit...I will spend some time and do further research.
I was on my way this weekend to get John William Wilson death reg in 1958 to see if light could be shed on his family.
What I am really hoping for is a family member /researcher will spot my post and reply....One must always hope.
John "Jack/Jock"William Wilson was my great uncle  and left wonderful impression on my childhood.
He served in the Boer War under Lord Baden Powell,he was a farmer, hunter, taxidermist and guide.
He was a guide to the Marquis of Lorne on his several occasional trips to BC.
So,like I say family contact would be  delightful,to say the least.
Many thanks.....

Could be just coincidence but my uncle was John Wilson (married in) and he lived in New Brighton until his death.  Obviously not one of your early ones but could be a descendant?  Seymour street is about two minutes walk from where he lived.

I could ask my cousins if they know any more if you are interested?

Thanks Certacito, but my great uncle John William Wilson did not have time to marry until he came to Canada,it was then after he received land that he did and sadly this loving couple had no children.
I still have hope that someone will recognize the address in New Brighton,Wallasey as to where his brother  Andrew Wilson lived.

I recognise the address having lived in the next road in 1958 but don't recall the name.  Mind you I was only eight.  I could check the voters list for you if that would help at all? Seymour street and number 20 is still there although most around it has been redeveloped.
