Now the next part of the puzzle is to work out where the Howard and Elliott names come from....

Joseph and Elizabeth's children include:

John Elliott
Bertha Elliott
Nicholas Howard Elliott

Nicholas continued that with each of his children having Howard or Elliott or both as their middle names

I can't find that going back.

I’ve been wanting to solve the “Elliot” mystery for some time now! My great great grandfather John Elliot Warn (aka The Oyster King) was Nicolas Howard Elliot Warn’s older brother. John Elliot Warn gave all six of his children (including the girls) the middle name “Elliot” - I asked my grandmother years ago and even she wasn’t sure why. It seems to have been a tradition that ran in the family as I’m assuming all of Nicholas’s children were given the middle name Elliot too, my information lists his children’s middle initial “E” 🤔

Yes, all of Nicholas Warn's children including the girls had the middle name of Elliott
