Robert Yallup, Wisbech Cambridgeshire
« on: Tuesday 18 September 12 14:59 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I have been trying to find Robert Yallup without success,  he was probably born about 1840 in Wisbech Cambridgeshire.  I have found his wife [Emma, born 1840] and his son [Edward Joseph born 1860] in the 1861 Census.  They are staying with Emma's parents.  Emma is recorded as being a soldier's wife.
I have not been able to find any record of Robert's birth/baptism or death in the records and Emma and Edward Joseph Yallup seem to disappear from the records after the 1861 Census.
I have found what is probably Emma and Robert's marriage on the freebdm website incorrectly recorded and Robert Yallup and Emma Mossen [it should be Massen] 1860 Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
I have also found what is probably Edward Joseph's baptism 19th Aug 1860 [name spelt Yallop] in Norwich
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Lesley

Thank you Cathy and Rosie for your quick responses.

I thought that I had tried every different kind of spelling possible for the surname but it just goes to show that it needs new eyes to look at the problem.

I was concerned that this family may have died out or possibly moved overseas [so far have been unable to find anything after 1861].  I have hit a brick wall on my direct line so am now researching the brothers and sisters.

I will now start some new searches trying some different spelling options.

Thank you again for your help, regards, Lesley
