Mr James HAMON, 58 years, farmer; Mrs Edith HAMON 53 years, wife and Harold C HAMON, 15 years, scholar, embarked London on the SS BARRABOOL on 20 Dec 1954, ticketed to Melbourne.
Last address in the UK 36 Eastern Esplanade, Southen-on-Sea, Essex.  Last country of permanent residence, England.  Country of intended permanent residence, Australia.

From your other post you know that James and Edith settled at Warrnambool where he was listed on the electoral roll from 1931 as a market gardener and are both buried in the Warrnambool Cemetery.

Australian Electoral Roll
NSW 1937
HAMON, Harold Croxson  HMAS Australia, C/-GPO Sydney  Operator
HAMON Valerie Fairbairn  1066 Rocky Pt Road, Kogarah  HD
1943
HAMON Harold Croxson  Somers  Storekeeper
HAMON Valerie Fairbairn  Somers  HD

1949
HAMON Harold Croxson  17 Birdwood Street, Frankston  Storekeeper
HAMON Valerie Fairbairn  17 Birdwood Street, Frankston  HD

Did he use the surname HAYNES or has there been some confusion at the time of registering his death.  Perhaps they weren't married.    I would also approach the Port Pirie council for clarification of their cemetery records.

I have Valerie at this address until 1977 but no Harold after 1949 I can't find him at all after 1949, I have the Australian Electoral Rolls on Ancestry. I now have Valerie's Death thanks to Wivenhoe.

Perhaps Harold moved to SA post 1949 or even before.  An electoral roll listing does not guarantee that the person was actually at that address in that year.   It is possible he may have left Valerie any time between 1943 and 1949.  SA electoral rolls are not on Ancestry. Not all SA rolls survive.  I have a three rolls but not for the years you are seeking information.

I would use the Ask a Librarian service at the State Library of SA for a search for possible death and funeral notices for Harry HAMON aka Harry HYNES and Freda Beatrice HYNES that may have been published in the Port Pirie  The Recorder newspaper.   They possibly hold archived copies on fiche.  Make sure you include all the information.  I have always found the library staff most helpful and will go the extra mile IF you give them plenty of information.

The Port Pirie Family History Group may be able to help.  Contact details
