There are a few Passenger lists for Chisholms going to Canada ..unfortunately there is no specific info. However there seems to be a book regarding Scottish Immigrants to Canada.

example:

Alexander Chisholm , pg 58
arrived; 1821
Place: Nova Scotia, Canada
May include : Name of ship, place of origin, place of destination, date of birth and death, parentage, occupation, and other historical and family data
WHYTE, DONALD. A Dictionary of Scottish Emigrants to Canada before Confederation. Toronto: Ontario Genealogical Society. Volume 1, 1986. 443p.

Passenger list dates for Alexander Chrisholm arriving in NS, Canada
1818 Pictou, NS
1821 NS
1832 NS
There are others but dates are in the early 1800's when he would have been a child

Passenger List for a Hugh Chisholm
1820 arriving Nova Scotia

Toni, I see Hugh in 1851 and 1861 ...those censuses for NS only state Head of House and the number of people residing with him. No Names or ages!
Travellers = Penfold, Orchard, James
Devon = Middleton,  Waterfield, Adams, Clark/e, Gould
Cornwall = Palmer, Carnarton, Slack/Smith. Morris/h
Wales, New Quay = James, Evans

Roderick and Ann's gravestone http://gravestones.rosscromartyroots.co.uk/picture/number4268.asp

They are in Evanton in 1851 - Ancestry has name spelt Rodrick

Guess the grave transcription should read 49 not 19

In the 1871 census , NS

As Nick stated Alexander Chisholm (68, teacher) is living with his widowed sister-in-law, Catherine (Hugh's wife). Head of house is his nephew , Hugh, bc 1839 NS, farmer, is head of home.

If Hugh married in 1834, in Scotland, I'm assuming, they would have travelled to NS between 1834- 1838/9 ...unless there is an older child born to Hugh and Catherine.

Not having much luck  :-\

Nick .... have you seen this site ...all you have to do is agree to terms and conditions. I did and I searched "Chisholm" ...lots of data on Chisholms of Pictou, NS but you have to pay to see the documents.
