Yes, Cowpen/Blyth for Mabel, her parents were married in Warkworth and her older siblings were born there, must have had it on my mind.

Christine - Thanks for that page, this is the page that threw me, quite clearly 1834, and I think January abbreviated,  but all the entries are crossed out!

I didn't have time to search any further through the records when I wrote this post.  Your page is 491, this one is 449, so things really must have got out of order.

Odd!  The numbering sequence is still the same - the first baptism for 1834 is no. 537 on both images.  It looks as if they've started to write the 1834 baptisms immediately after those for 1833 and then remembered that they had to send them to the bishop  ;D

Family Search have maps of England Jurisdictions as at 1851 which I have found very useful. Not only maps but you can get lists of place names within a parish, parishes within a civil registration district and SO much more.
I like it, can you tell? :-)

It 'is' really helpful especially when you have ancestors, like mine, who wandered far and wide. I am reasonably knowledgeable about Durham/Northumberland geography but my lot came from all over the UK.
