Lookup, St Matthew, Walsall
« on: Wednesday 26 September 12 22:18 BST (UK) »
I was wondering if anybody has access to the Banns of Marriage or the parish registers for St Matthew, Walsall.

I am looking for the marriage of William Marshall to Maria Lewis, 18th February 1822.

I was wondering if there would be any parents details (unlikely), witnesses, or at the very least if the Banns could tell me where William was from.

Thank you.

At the risk of getting my wrists slapped for bumping, I was wondering if there is anybody at all who could help with this?

Have you asked the volunteers at Staffordshire look up exchange?

Tried to post the link, but it would not work.

I am sure that a google search would find it for you

Parents details will not be there as they weren't added until 1837.  The Banns rarely survive as well.  The marriage would only tell you at what parish they lived for the three weeks prior to the marriage a bit like the banns :)

Thank you for your responses.

I'm absolutely stuck on this so perhaps am destined never to know!

I had a look at my disc for Walsall but it doesn't have marriages, just early baptisms and burials, it's a bit tedious as the return button doesn't work and you have to go back to the opening page every time!!
Sorry!
