Messingham Cooper/Roberts Help

I've hit a family tree dead end. I've traced Joseph Cooper (7 Mar 1827) and Ellen Roberts (28 May 1827) to Messingham in Lincolnshire. I've found record of their 1852 marriage in Messingham before immigrating to the United States later that year. Apparently, before their marriage (as of 1851) they were servants in the manor house of William Sowerby. The marriage record lists Joseph's father as Charles Cooper and Ellen's father as John Roberts (b. 1796). I can't find any additional information about the fathers, much less their wives, or parents.

Any help with information about Joseph/Ellen's parents would be greatly appreciated!

Ellen's father, a widower, is on the 1880 US census living with Joseph and Ellen
also with them is a George Roberts, partner, age 54, single. Possibly Ellen's brother?
