Yes that was given earlier in the thread. :)

Leslie Roland BLACKWELL's parents in Queensland on the 1909 electoral roll

Australian Electoral Roll
1909
BLACKWELL Ida Lavinia Rockwood  HD
BLACKWELL William  Rockwood Well borer

1919
BLACKWELL Leslie Roland  Hughenden  Well borer
BLACKWELL William James  Hughenden  Well borer

and by 1954
BLACKWELL Georgina Elizabeth 7 Adam Street, Bundeberg  HD
BLACKWELL Leslie Roland  7 Adam Street, Bundeberg  Gardener

Will leave it for the moment until you can confirm his parents names possibly from his death certificate or marriage cert to Dorothy Jean HUNTER ie if they married in Victoria and the date of marriage is over 60 years ago.

Quote
I am suspecting they may have married in Queensland
As you don't know and it may have been Victoria as Dorothy Jean HUNTER was born in SA...well ie if I have found her birth information.

Cheers

I think you need at least the dc for Henry before you can progress your quest with any confidence.

Can't seem to get any results from birth, death and marriages in Victoria for their marriage.  They would of been married late 1930s or in the 1940s going by the birth of my partner's father.  On his service record Henry's next of kin is Dorothy.

The NAA has files for at least Two chaps surnamed BLACKWELL and associated with WINTON Qld and service in WWII.  Neither file has been digitised.   One was born there (your chap) and the other enlisted there.

CandO would they have more information on his service records than the service records I found?

I think you have only found the file on their database.  It has not been digitised.  You can purchase either to have it digitised on the website or purchase a copy of the file to be mailed to you.

There is often interesting information in service files eg if he married during his enlistment period as the NOK is altered and therefore only the new NOK is reflected in the service summary. Sometimes there is correspondence after the war relating to service pensions etc.  I have had more experience with WW1 files but the two WW2 service files I purchased  for members of my family gave me a lot of interesting information eg a now deceased relative who never married requested leave to marry in the UK but the marriage didn't eventuate...even had the intended's name, address and parental details.  Would love to know what happened...knowing my rellie :-X :-X

Marriage records are not available post 1942.  They did not married in Victoria before that date.

My choice to start things rolling would be Dorothy Jean's death certificate.  At least if the information is accurate it will give you her place of marriage. According to her age she died in 1984 she was born c1923 so would they have married in the 1930's.  Her death cert would also list the names of her children and their ages at that time.
