Halpin Family of Ballina/Castlebar
« on: Saturday 28 May 05 18:06 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find as much info as I can on the family of James and Anne Halpin (nee Boland) of Ballina. I have come to somewhat of a brickwall.

Anne died in Ballina on the 5th January 1885. She and James had 4 children, Annie, Henry (born in Boyle Co Roscommon c 8th June 1856), Ellen and Thomas (born 12th July 1866 in Castlebar).

James was in the North Mayo Militia and can be traced to the area from around 1863. He was discharged in 1868 and that is where I lose him.

I am hoping they were buried together but I cannot trace his death or burial or the burial of Anne.

Any info would be brilliant. I don't know whether to try school records for THomas and see where this takes me, any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated!
Halpin/Halpen, Boland, Carlisle, Sherwood, Auld, Harvey, Ferris
