If this is correct then he should be born c1919/1920 but I could only see "Fred" in Thanet as a possible

The UK 1939-1945 Roll of Honour gives his birthplace as Kent and residence as Canterbury

Thank you everyone for all of your help. Frederick and Ethel were a complete mystery to me and i couldn't find much about them. Hopefully i will find more now, and discover this family story.

posted above. What are the names in breackets (David) i thought this might be the husbands or wifes name, but doesn't seem to be.

I would assume it was the forename of the spouse.  Could it be that some people are commonly known by a "pet" name rather than their actual name or a mistake by the publication even?

I now know this was my guy who commited suicide. He was living in Erith, kent. So if anyone has the time or access to old newspapers i would be most greatful. He died in Nov 1929.
