Hi there,
What were the sons names and when/where born?
Also did you mean Redcliffe, Bristol as Thomas' place of birth? There seems to be a few Bevan's there.

Penninah

Hi penninah

Looking at the 1861 image again it may well be that Redcliffe is Thomas' place of birth
the 3 sons were
Thomas b 1857
Henry    b 1859
George  b 1860
All 3 had the middle name  "Dixon"  it was the maiden name of the mum who we also can't find

Hello again,

No sign of a Thomas the right age or any Edmunds!
Unless the name was misspelt they dont seem to be there.
Where do you have Thomas' birth from? I have found a marriage for a 'Thomas Bevin' in Langport 1828 to a Mary Clark says he was born c 1803 in Langport. Is his son definatly 'Edmund'?

Me again,

Well, having had a good look around this is what ive found;

Im taking it you have him on the 1871 married to a Pheobe. Living in Yatton, Somerset. Pheobe is his 2nd wife perhaps. b Locking 1803.
they are still together in the 1881 census at the same place.

This is the only possibility on the 51 census, dont take much notice of the spelling!
BEAVAN Thomas Widow/er 50 Sawyer Yatton, Som.
Elizabeth Daughter 19 House Keeper Yatton, Som.
Benjamin 10 Scholar Yatton, Som.
Ann 7 Scholar Yatton, Som.
Eliza 5 Scholar Yatton, Som.
GOODING William Lodger 22 Ag. Lab Yatton, Som.

Also; On the 1871 census i have Elizabeth j Bevan b st pancras 1829 living as a servant in Hamstead, London for a Sarah Baldwin.

Her sons Henry b 1859 north Petherton, George b 1860 and John b 1862 living in North Petherton as 'stepsons' to a George NEAT b Westbury Wilts 1830.

Thomas E Bevan b 1857 North Petherton is in Bridgwater workings as a farm labourer.

Do you have the boys on the 1891 census?

Regards

Hi penninah  me again

you have been busy
the Yatton Thomas we have seen before and we have almost decided it is not our Thomas, as Henry Dixon Bevan as a child wrote in a book about going to his Grandfather's funeral and if Thomas was still alive in 1881 Henry would have been 21  before  Thomas died.
George Neat was actualy the boys school teacher and married Elizabeth Bevan in 1867

we have Thomas born at Radcliffe ( Redcliffe) from the 61 census
Thanks

Regards
