Hi,
There is a tree on the ancestry site that has a George Albert Williams aslo known by the name Albert Arthur Williams, born in 1894 Cambridgeshire, spouse Henrietta Annie E Wells, parents Albert Henry Williams and Ada Grace Sprigg. I have checked both freebmd and Camdex and there is a George A Williams born in Wisbech in 1894.
I have also seen the photo of Albert and Hetty you have posted on here on ancestry to so I dont know wether its your tree or not?

No one else has mentioned it but above Alberts name on the medal index card it says " see Welbrum".....could this be an alternative surname for Albert?

Hi,
Me again looked on family search on the 1901 census and have found a Bertie A Williams aged 5 born in Wisbech who is the son of the head of household, there is a Bertie Williams born 1896 on Camdex born in Soham.
On 1911 census Bert Alfred Williams aged 15 born Wisbech, so I think that discounts Bertie, but also George Albert Williams on 1911 census aged 17 born Wisbech.

In your original post, you said "Anyway i shall explain what i know, and what i've assumed."

Can you please say what you definitely know ?

Are you sure you have the right couple (i.e. Albert Arthur Williams and Henrietta Wells) as your g. grandparents ?

If you don't have the right death certificate, the whole thing falls apart  :)

Update:  I think you may have obtained the wrong marriage certificate.   An Albert (E?) Williams married an Eleanor S D Wells in Lewisham in Q4 1916.  Since the couple appear to have lived in Lewisham all their lives, this marriage seems to be a good candidate ?  Did you see the mother's maiden name of Wells on a birth registration and assume the wrong marriage ?   It all stems on whether you obtained certificates for your grandparents, and what they said.

Sorry, scrap all that.  Albert E Williams (who married Eleanor Sarah Dorothy Wells) died in 1961 in Farnworth.

Without knowing what you definitely know (what you can backup by certificate), it's difficult to move forward.
RIP 1949-10th January 2013

Best Wishes,  Nick.
