Isaac HOLMES & Eleanor ? Marriage Newark area c. 1776
« on: Saturday 28 May 05 23:01 BST (UK) »
Hello.

Isaac HOLMES and his wife Eleanor ??? baptized their first (?) child in Wellingore, Lincolnshire on 5th April 1777. I have been unable to trace their marriage in Lincolnshire. (It doesn't appear, for example, in the Lincolnshire Family History Society Marriage Indexes for 1754-1812). I am therefore wondering if they may have married across the border in Nottinghamshire, which is not too far from the village of Wellingore.

I wonder if anyone is able to check for their marriage in the Newark area around 1775?

Thank you for any help.

Best wishes,
Marklinc

Many Thanks for checking for a marriage, Jane.

I imagine that Isaac and Eleanor's missing marriage may be due to an oversight on the part of some parish priest or perhaps a lost register, although there are a lot more counties or even countries where they could habe married. The search will just have to go on!

Thanks once again,

Mark
