westmorland was a county untill 1974 then was incorparated with cumbria

Census reference would be the year, piece and folio numbers.   Or perhaps you could tell us the name of the family?   A good way to find houses is to look along the enumerator's route and see if they are near a pub, church etc.

It was in a will extract on Ancestry.  Cicely Pears died in 1951 and address is given as Rooking Cottage, Patterdale, Westmorland.
