Hi Pat Mat,
I think we might have ancestors in common. My grandfather was Herbert Mather, his father was William Mather, his father was Thomas Mather born in Scotland 1803.
Is this part of your family line ? if so I can tell you much more about our Scottish ancestors.
Are their any others who have these same ancestors and any links with Newton Don Scotland?

Thomas Mather was born in Scotland at a place called Nenthorn/Newton Don near Kelso. His father was Andrew and his mother Alison Wood. I have not got much further back but e-mail me on robinmather@ymail and I can tell you some more about the family.

Regards
