1901 has a Johana Smith b abt 1878 - age is wrong but as I said earlier, not always reliable.

Free BMD has a marriage 1903 where there is a Joanna/Joan Smith - bridegrooms Henry Collins or David Pullin.
You would need to check this certificate for father's name.

Hi Alfred,

I came across your posts by pure chance as I have not searched for some time and not for this particular branch of my tree.

I have not read all of the posts and replies which are of a great help to me and will need some attention to sort out where it all links in.

My grandmother was Gwenllian May Jones nee Smith born in Blaina, daughter of Alfred Smith and Eliza Beard. Alfred was the son of Alfred Smith and Johanna Sullivan and was married twice which adds a huge dimension to the list of relatives - his other wife was Elizabeth Griffiths.

There are a large number of relatives in the former county of Monmouthshire and probably many who still live there.

If you could send me an email address via Personal Message I will send you a link to my family tree which is work in progress.

Gareth Griffiths
