COMPLETED Ramsgate marriage - ARTIS

Can anyone help with a marriage (1840 Thanet registration) for Richard Artis and Sarah
Census of 1841 lists them in Ramsgate - although I am unable to trace in later records.

Just guessing-but going by the subsequent birth of Raymond Wilson ARTIS-I'd have to say Sarah WILSON.

Richard and Sarah are in Kensington in 1851 with 2 sons-Raymond and Richard. Both Sarah (now a widow)and Richard jnr seem to be in the Thanet workhouse by 1861.

In 51 there is a Richard and Sarah living in Fulham.
Richard is 68 and a Retired Hat Merchant born Marylebone
Sarah is 39 born Burford Oxon
6 Victoria Cottages, Fulham
2 sons Raymond and Richard born Ramsgate Kent

or

Living in Suffolk theres a Richard age 36, agr labourer born Thorndon and Sarah 40 with sons George, Robert and daughter Rebecca

Do you know the names of any of their children?

Yes, it is Sarah WILSON.  Her and Richard both have the same reference number on the Kent Registration Services site http://extranet3.kent.gov.uk/sp/rois/marriagesearch.cfm ............ T/14 would be the church of St John (Margate).

Thanks for your help to all those who have responded.

I have just seen a Death Reg 1860 in Thanet for Richard Artis - guess this accounts for why Sarah is listed as "widow" in 1861.

The Richard in Suffolk is a completely separate line by the looks of it - which is the one I have been tracing. I was wondering if this Richard was somehow related .... but it looks like he wasn't.
