My Grandfather was Harry Howarth born September 1883 in Wardleworth, Rochdale, he had a brother John Robert Howarth born 1881, Rochdale, both were christened at St Chads, Rochdale.

Harry and John's father was James Howarth born 1857  Rochdale and mother Esther Travis.  James had a brother Robert born 1855 and brother John born 1865. 

James's mother was Jane Hardman and father John Howarth born 1828.  He died 1865 the year his son John was born. In the 1861 census John and Jane Howarth were living at 35 Manchester Road, (Civil parish: Castleton, Ecclesiastical parish: St Chads), with their children Robert and James and with John's sister Ann.  John and Ann were involved in the wool industry.
