Hi redlabel,

Welcome to Rootschat, hope we can help you.

Is it the burial records for William and Elizabeth Barney, you have "son" in there as well, have you son's name? How do you suspect they are buried it Tranent? Have you any certificates?

I did a search on FreeCen and FreeReg and could not find any Barney's in Tranent. On Family Search the LDS site, results were Andrew b 1827 and Michal (sic) b 1831, resident at Haddingtonshire. Apart from that not many Barney's found.

Hi redlabel,

I am not sure if you have William the father in the 1851 census, at New Row, Tranent. I note that he is widowed, so will search for death/burial of Elizabeth McCann before the 1851 census.
