Hello

Looking for the birth date or year of Patrick John Barnes (John Patrick Barnes).

Convict and Australian records suggest he was born in 1813 in Dublin.

Can anyone help shed light on this fellow !!!

The first place to look is the parish records on : www.irishgenealogy.ie

The website concentrates on records for Dublin City rather than the county.

Do you know anything else about Patrick ? e.g. religion, father's name or occupation

I actually meant father's occupation...

If you knew his father's name it would help your search, and certain occupations are listed in directories etc, which would help your search. probably not tinsmiths though...

No clues as to what part of Dublin city or county ?

No to father`s occupation.

I have no other clues to him as yet.

He is a problem ancestor of mine.

He went to Australia in 1835 as a convict on the ship Mary Ann II.

Patrick was a Brass Founder (Blacksmith) in Dublin.

In answer to your post on Patrick John Barnes according to his Death Certificate his fathers' occupation was Soldier. Patrick's occupation is Tinplate Worker.

Four children recorded to Patrick John Barnes and Jane (nee Davis):

Mary Ann, born 21 Sep 1841, bapt. 17 Oct 1841 (Anglican baptism) – Maitland NSW Australia

George William, born 27 Feb 1846, bapt. 19 Apr 1846 West Maitland NSW Australia– Anglican. d. 24 jan 1895

James Patrick, born 4 Apr 1848, bapt 3 Jul 1848 Maitland NSW Australia – Anglican

John Thomas born 1843 Market Street, Sydney Australia. 10 dec 1938 Lambton, NSW Australia

John Thomas is my ggg grandfather.

I have a few documents (convict information) on Patrick John Barnes and Jane Davis and their children, if you are interested. I also have a photo of Mary Ann Barnes + one of John Thomas and his wife Elizabeth Deas.

I am very interested !!!

Patrick is a very intersting person as is, Jane, his wife.

Jane`s death Cert. mentions 10 children.

Do you know if Patrick had more children because l have another 3 but to an Adelaide Gray

Which of John`s children do you descend from ?

Photos - Wow - yes l would like to see them if possible - email - PdF format just to see what they looked like.

Let`s swap info. or make their lives a bit more clearer

I think it is more than l exspected but they are interesting people.
