Family Portrait Comments in German script
« on: Tuesday 23 October 12 02:59 BST (UK) »
The attached file contains a family photo with several comments handwritten on the reverse.  Some of these notes were added possibly by additional individuals at a later time.  I feel there may be some valuable information which may provide clues to family members, but can't decipher it.  The occasion is the eightieth  birthday of a Meta Harder (seated second from the right).

Please transcribe and translate from German to English.

Thanks in advance for your help.

What language is this? German?
I think you should change your topic heading to request a "translation from whatever language to English".  :)

There are several German speakers on rootschat, so I'm sure you won't have to wait long for a translation.  :)

I am going to try and attempt this transcription begining with section A, and I hope someone will dive in or at least throw me a life preserver if I start going down.

Section A seems the easiest so  here I go-

  Mutters Bild i_ n
  _?_u__  Stuhl brimgt
  A. Biehl
  huch mit.

Help!

Augustine,

Thank you for your transcription of a portion of the photo comments.
I am wondering if you think the last line might be the following:

   Herzl. Grüße senden auch
Jonn or Herr(?) Harder & Frau.

Can you translate it into English?

which means something like:

Hopefully you like this picture ?? we’ll send you the other pictures later or I’ll bring them with me then.
 I remain your Anna Biel

Johan(?) Harder & Frau also send warm regards

The names are quite tricky - and probably what you're most interested in! I can just about make out 'Harder', I think.

Text A

Mutters Bild im
neuen Stuhl bringt
A. Biehl Euch mit.

A.Biehl will bring you the photo of mother in her new chair [birthday present, perhaps?]

Text B is tongue in cheek!

Ein Liebhaber sagt
Vater ist nur darauf,
die anderen fünf Ver-
ehrer der Müttchen
kamen am nächsten Tag

Father says that only one [of mother's] lovers is in the photo; Mum's other five admirers came by the next day.

The black writing near the bottom left corner of C goes with the place & date at the bottom: "Aufnahme in" = Photograph [taken] in ...
