william fox eliza manchester

trying to find out what happend to william fox in 1861 census his wife eliza is living in newton heath manchester with there son william there daughter eliza whose 11 and hannah fox who is seven she is my gg granmother who married henry bruckshaw but i cant find her dad living with them i know her fathers name is william as its on hannahs marriage certificate to henry and ive been trying to find out what happend to william and if he was born in england as eliza was born in ireland id also like to find out her maiden name ive found two marriages to a william fox in manchester catherderal in 1847 one to a eliza willshaw and the other is eliza moore but im not sure which one is the correct one .im wondering if maybey william died prehaps maybe thats why his not listed as living with them in the 1861 census

You should be able to get Eliza's maiden name from any of the children's birth certificates.  That will establish the correct marriage entry

Is Eliza shown as married or widowed in 1861?

Have you looked in 1871 to see if William reappears?

hi im not sure because i couldnt find him in the census ,with the rest off the family eliza was born in  1830 and shes put her birth place down as ireland .than theres my gg granmother hannah she was born in 1855 her brother william 1848 and her older sister eliza is 1850 all living in newton heath manchester .

i will see if i can get hannahs birth certificate .in the 61 census it didnt mention if she was widowed or married and i cant find them in 71 census .hannah is married by than so found her and her husband but not her mum

what occupation is given for her father William on her wedding cert?

In 1861 and 1851 Eliza (mother) is shown as Married (on the original images), but no sign of a husband.


It's possible that William did not actually exist and was only put on Hannah's marriage certificate to save face.  What does it give as his occupation?

Hannah's birth certificate should show the father's name as well as mother's maiden name

hi william is put down as being a mason on hannahs  marriage certificate .im going to order her birth certifiacte .william seems to be a bit of a mystery
