The younger one IS different.  Could the two dressed alike be boys?

How old do you think the lady is?

The lady on her own?  Maybe in her late 30s?  A bit dificult to tell as we cannot see any wrinkles  ;D

Still has dark hair and her right eye, which is untouched by me apart from a bit of sharpening up, looks bright and open.  She looks very relaxed and 'homely' - I bet she has had children.

Hi Maggie

I also thought the 2 children could be boys but it looks as though they are wearing dresses...I also didn't think a boy would be sitting on the woman's lap.  ;D

Re: The lady by herself .... James has a wife, aged 29 and and 2 children (3 and 1) by 1894. I wonder ....

For about an hour I've been searching for that Wedgwood pattern. Surprisingly, there is no good source on the net. Apparently, a book on Wedgwood patterns is the best bet.

But I can tell you that it's a very unusual pattern. The tree has an unusual leaf configuration. Haven't found it yet.

I'm still looking. Beats doing housework ;D

Cheers,

Hi China  :D

Yes ...housework .... I am going to have to run around like a looney in a bit and finish it all ! LOL

There is a lovely assortment of things on the table ... a collection of some sort ... note: two cups and saucers also with great patterns.

Keep on at the Wedgwood pattern ... would the shape of the handle date it?

I think this is beyond me  :'(

Yes - it does beat housework, but now I'm going to have to run around spraying polish around before OH comes home.  Wouldn't want him to think I've been playing with photos all day  ::)

I wondered about the handle too, Deb...but I have not found a teapot with that shape handle and the same design on it. I'm pretty sure it is Wedgwood, though.

Usually a site displaying a photo just says "vintage", "old" or some such. :P

Found a pot with same shape handle ...but not the pattern. Note the lid of teapot is plain white.

I wonder what's behind the lady statue?

Don't you just wish you could enter the photo and say hi to James and ask him about his things?  ;D ;D
