Link: Churchyard of St Peter, Blackley including Commonwealth War Graves
« on: Wednesday 31 October 12 22:48 GMT (UK) »
In connection with our work on the Manchester General Cemetery Transcription Project we were recently contacted by the owners of this website:-

http://www.blackley.org.uk/genealogy/list_of_graves.html

The website already contains a plan of the churchyard, a list of 17 Commonwealth War Graves plus some interesting general information about the local area.  There is a graveyard restoration project in progress and graves are being recorded and entered on to a database on the website.  You can also contact them if you need help in locating the grave of an ancestor or would like to volunteer with the restoration work.

Another excellent project.

Luzzu  :)

Their Website stated not so long ago, that it was changing.

I think it will be just a matter of time before the new one appears  ;)

Thanks LJ58 what a great website, nice to see that there is a plan of the churchyard plan. There is a list of the commonwealth War Graves at St Peters Blackley including photographs.

What a brilliant resource.

Hopefully more churches will be similarly available in due course.
