flick and garrood garwood families of burnham essex

Researching the garrood family of Essex I have Clara garrood daughter of Sara flick and George garrood .i know George and Sara got married in 1836 .i would like to find any information on who there parents were ? If anyone is researching the same families it would be great to hear from you or if anyone has any intonation that would be fantastic

In 1851 there is a Betsey Garrod born c1788 in Blythburgh Suffolk, also in the household is her daughter Eliza born c1829. On checking the baptisms Elizas parents are John and Betsey, who I think are the same John and Elizabeth of Georges Baptism as the John at Elizas bap is also a blacksmith.

The nearest marriage I can find on the Suffolk Marriage Index is.

Hello thankyou very much lots of info you have given me I will have to check it all out .on family search I came across a Emily palmer garrood whose father was George William garrood  perhaps they gave her the middle name palmer after Sara mums maiden name ,my link with the family is Clara Ann garrood she moved down to Surry and married a Lazarus Francis who was born in India as a British subject.his father was called John f but I've not had much luck with finding any more info out on them yet .i wonder if there is any Francis  in Essex

I keep a local register which has 24 Garoods and 87 Flick's both family first appear in the mid 1700's so by 1836 they were well established in the area.
The Flick's were one of the pillars of society in Burham during the 1800's- Their names crop up regularly in local documents and one Flick used to live in the large old house opposite my home.
The Garroods were more working class.
In 1844 George Garood is mentioned at a painter who had the contract for official work amongst the poor on behalf of the Vestry which organised poor relief.
As you no doubt know Sara died young while George lived to a comparatively ripe old age.

Hiya thank you for that info ,do u have a clara ann garrood ? i thought her parents were george garrood and sarah flick .but a family member of mine was unsure to weather there the correct parents .my clara was born in burnham 1844 and her father on her marriage certificate is a george garrood but my relation said to me that his occupation looks like farmer .i hope i have got the correct family .?
