« on: Tuesday 31 May 05 00:38 BST (UK) »
Hi there,

If someone could please lookup for for on the 1891 Census the Trotter Family that lived at Dyrham Park.   I am particulary interested to know the Trotter's that were there and all the servants as I believe my gr-grandfather Mowbray Trotter's butler.

Thanks
Karen

Yes, that's the family.

Oops, I just re-read my post.  My gr-grandfather was Mowbray Trotter's butler.

Where have you found Mowbray, at Dyrham Park?

Thanks
Karen

Hi Sue,

Thanks for that.  My gr-grandfather is Thomas Shorter, but I guess he's not working there yet at that time, he is on the 1901 census.  At that point (1901) they are over in East Farleigh, Kent.

Were there any Trotter's living at "Dyrham Park" in 1891?  Apparenlty it's a golf course now.

Thanks
Karen

Hello.
I don't know if you will see this but please by all means get in touch with me on

I have been doing a lot of family history research with a lady in Nelson called Patricia Eastwood nee Simmons (no D as in the Simmonds on this page so that might be an error)
Her parents and grandparents lived and worked on the estate prior to 1939 and it's requisition by the War Office, and we have uncovered a lot of information.
I know it's many years since these postings but I hope you still can be contacted.
