John Flower 1793-1861 St Mary's Leicester
« on: Thursday 15 November 12 20:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi, does anyone know of any Siblings of John. Searched IGI records but couldn't see anymore children from John/Mary from around those dates. I also can't see John's third child, just Elizabeth & Charles.
Also wondered about the siblings of John senior, the Woolcomber.
Thanks
Julia

Bit confused.
You have a John Flower b.1793 with parents John & Mary & you want to find his siblings?
You also want details on John's unnamed child?
You also want to find John's father's siblings,John Snr. woolcomber?

can't see John's third child, just Elizabeth & Charles.

Think she would be Eliza

The article says Elizabeth born 10 November 1816 also John became a Unitarian by 1819, one of his children baptized at Great Meeting, Elizabeth married twice William Bayes Marshall 1839 & William Kempson 1853 both marriages took place at Great Meeting

Family search  has the following

Elizabeth Flower birth 10 November 1816 parents John & Frances
Christened 10 May 1819 Great Meeting Presbyterian Leicester

Then these christenings on same day parents named as John Flower & Frances

30 May 1815 St Mary De Castro
Eliza Flower & Charles Flower

Thanks for replies. I already know John and Frances had Charles, (another) and Elizabeth, the only child to survive infancy. The Siblings i'm looking for are for either John Jnr or Senior. That would the give me the link to my Flower-line.
My Flower's are:
Linthwaite b1724 St Mary's - owner of the Castle Mill and Woolcomber (?) on his Will of 1771
Robert b1747 St Nicholas - son of Linthwaite/Jane married to Keziah. One of their son's was a John Horton (unusual to have this second name) b1776 St Mary's. My Flower from Robert&Keziah was Thomas b1779.
Went to St Mary's earlier today and felt a weird spiritual aura come over me!! Going back (in more appropriate shoes) to try and find gravestones. Also asked Vicar there why some of same family were registered at St Mary's and some at St Nicholas. He merely thought Vicar would have been busy on day of Christening, so they swapped Churches.

Hi Flowermaid,

My Flower line also goes back to Linthwaite and Jane. I have inherited a copy of John Flower's volume of lithographs, Views of Ancient Buildings in the Town and County of Leicester which makes me think I may be in some way related to John via Linthwaite. Have you been able to establish a connection between Linthwaite Flower and John Flower, the artist? Any information or clues you - or indeed any other members - may have would be much appreciated.
