Thanks Joe
I accepted the free AVG tuneup but when it showed how many problems were found I got a message saying my trial time had elapsed and I don't think I even had these problems resolved.
I will wait until my son comes home for Christmas and get him to try and sort it.

I wonder if there really were that many problems, or if it was just a way of getting you to buy the full version? Strange how these programs always find problems on a trial run.  ;D

Just out of interest, I purchased the multiple license 2 year version of AVG which included the Tuneup 2011 package. I run it at least once a month and it certainly clears up a lot of garbage build up on my system. I have had no problems with at all, and think that it certainly is worth the price I paid.

Regards

Malky

I bought it this last weekend, must say that so far after the installation my computer is running faster and more responsively.

Ahhh....

Found it in Programmes "AVG 2011" and had options including "uninstall"-have done that so hopefully the pop up has gone

Aye Roger ....... got to agree that my AVG is quicker and seamless so no problems there at all ... it's just that I regularly (say twice a day) that I get this pop up .... does'nt worry me and I can live with it OK.
My attitude is that AVG put it there as a 'catch all' for people who have taken on the free trial and completed it only to find that the trial reported several problems that require fixing and then telling them that they should purchase the full version in order to fix them.
Whilst I like the full version very much I think it is a pretty poor way of  'grooming' potential customers.

Anyone want it, I will pm full details to first one who contacts me.
Not required by myself as I have a full security program by others.

Can you take a snapshot of the pop up so we can see what you are getting?
