Marriage Ennis Co Clare
« on: Wednesday 21 November 12 19:40 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Can somebody explain the best way of tracing a marriage which probably took place in Ennis, Co Clare between 1937 and 1975.

I know that the bride was Kathleen Keating, Ennis, but I haven't a clue, as the man says, as to name of the groom. Kathleen was born around Ennis 1915 - 1922.....ish.

I have been told that she married 'locally' so I am starting this 'herculean task' in Ennis, Co Clare.

I am not aware of an Irish FreeBMD so where should I look?

Kind regards,

Mark.

The Irish BMD Index is available on FamilySearch - it covers up to 1958 for the Republic of Ireland.

Without some idea of the grooms name, you will probably only be able to find some possible marriages - the certs would be required to confirm if you have the 'correct' Kathleen.

Fair play to you, Shane.

That was a very prompt response.

I shall peruse the Irish BMD to see what I find.

Should I require one or two certs can you direct me to where I can purchase them?

Regards,

Mark.
