hi looking for decendents of agnes and douglas smith arrived in canada about 1910 -20 and came from larkhall /dalserf area in scotland may have life in vancover area

Do you know their full middle names and (even approximate) dates of birth?

They were married when they traveled? Any known children?

There are a couple of Agnes Smith deaths with middle names starting with L (out of a total of 84) but they seem perhaps a little too young:

Agnes Leona Smith aged 70 died in 1984
Agnes Leslie Smith aged 79 died in 1983

Out of 54 deaths for the name Douglas Smith, I don't see any with a middle name starting with P.

The full names and dates of birth, and maybe Agnes's birth surname, would be very useful for doing any searching.

I apologise to you all should have put agnes love smith born 1892 and her brother douglas born 1894  , they went to canada about 1920 with their father john love smith

There are Form 30As for entry into Canada on the Pretorian arriving Nov 1920 for John Love Smith, Agnes Love Smith and George Paterson Smith.  Agnes shows a friend, Dugald Weir, as her Canadian contact in Vancouver and also her form indicates that she is to be married.  Perhaps to Dugald?? but  FamilySearch doesn't bring up a marriage for her.  John had been in Canada before (Springhill, Nova Scotia which fits with his occupation as miner as that was a large mining town at the time).

John returned to Scotland to visit relatives and entered Canada again in 1923 with his Canadian contact as his son George in Vancouver.  On his entry into Canada in 1920 John had given his nephew, R. Graham, as his Canadian contact.

hi thanks for the info bit of a puzzle on douglas /george as family bible say;s douglas  p born 1894 so could have changed his first name seems like the right person many thanks by the way how do I look for cert;s in canada here in scotland it;s easy to an extent bobby

You can do a search of the BC Archives and see if you can locate you ancestors' info. Here is link.

I believe you can get the registration dox from the Archive, although I have not needed to do that yet.

Death registration for James Weir.  Informant was a son-in-law.  Agnes had at least one child.  Unfortunately Canada has strict privacy laws and births, marriages and deaths are protected for a certain number of years.  British Columbia has the most lenient laws governing the release of death information but births and marriages for the time period of Agnes' child would not be publically available.
