Thanks everybody for your replies.

I was lucky enough to be helped with an earler post on Margarets mother and father.

It looks like Margaret joined her father after the death of her mother then later returned to Dumfries, her place of birth.

I think perhaps ages have been transcribed wrongly.

You're very welcome Betty. Think the problem is that the ages and descriptions were wrongly transcribed unfortunately.  Shame we couldn't have a look at the image.

For future researchers.
I have downloaded the 1901 census for John Donelly from Scotlands People and find the address should be Burlington Street in Leith and the age of Margaret, his daughter is 55.
