Wilding
« on: Monday 26 November 12 22:05 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help please.
I am trying to find info on Edward Wilding 1775 ! Edward was married to Mary Powell who may have been born in the Clun area. Their son Henry Pateshall Wilding was born in Church Pulverbatch and later farmed in Pontesbury.
Does anyone have Wildings in their tree
Kind Regards Liz

They married 23rd may 1806 in Clun ...
baptisms of 2 children in Church Pulverbatch

Mary Anne Wilding 6th november 1807
Henry Patteshall Wilding 11th june 1810

so many Mary Powell baptisms in Shropsh for the period 1775-1792...but only 2 for Mary Anne Powell...if Edwards wife was Mary Anne Powell...you can narrow it down ...

Edward Wilding b 1775 ...in 1841 census in Clun , Edward states b 1776 Shropshire

familysearch only has one baptism in Shropshire 1773-1777,but it is transcribed WILDEN ...if you would like to see this record ,let me know

Thank You
This is really helpful I did not know about Mary Ann Wilding. Not sure about Mary Ann Powell !. I know her father was Matthew Powell from the clun area I have a list of her sibling none of them seem to have middle names.
Kind Regards Liz

I have Mary Anne Wilding linked to my tree. She married Richard Bromley in 1833 in Church Pulverbatch. They had 8 children that I know of, one of whom, Penry, had a daughter who married John Powell in 1891 (no idea if his family is related to Mary Powell).
I have no info on Mary Anne's father Edward, sadly.

Hi
I've had a look at the marriage in 1806 and it says he is of Churton and one of the witnesses is a Ann Wilding. The other is Pattishall Powell.
They all signed their names.
The latter Pattishall Powell  was 1765-1834 Church P. and left a death duty record

Hello, yes we have Mary Ann Wilding in our family tree married to Richard Patteshall Bromley from Church Pulverbatch (also know as Churton). I have always been interested where the Patteshall name came from as it was passed down the Bromley family as a middle name til the 1900s but I couldn’t find any link in the Bromley side.

Is Patteshall the first name of Patteshall Powell? I need to follow this up. If you have made any further progress I would be really interested.

Thanks.

Hi
Yes Patteshall was his first name.
It's not my tree so I haven't followed it up but perhaps the others have.
I'm willing to have a look for him but limited time on line at the mo.
