COMPLETED: GOODALL Henry (born 1849 in Warrnambool, Australia) who emigrated
« on: Wednesday 28 November 12 02:22 GMT (UK) »
Hello Everyone,

I am trying to track down the descendants of Henry, who was thought to have emigrated from Australia to New Zealand.  Date unknown.

I have found a marriage record for a Henry to a Fanny Amelia MORLEY in 1879, and there was possibly a daughter born in 1880 to a Henry and Fanny, but have no real evidence of anything else.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, AB   ;)

Hello...

The newspaper notice actually says MOREY, not MORLEY.

PapersPast
http://www.rootschat.com/links/0sdq/

And the BDM NZ website says MERCY.

BDM NZ Marriages - 1879/330 - Fanny Amelia MERCY to Henry GOODALL

BDM NZ
https://www.bdmhistoricalrecords.dia.govt.nz/search/

So take your pick :-)

And this will be the daughter

BDM NZ Births - 1880/1020 - GOODALL, May Glanville - mother: Fanny Amelia  father: Henry

Thank you for that newspaper article.

Just doing some further checking, I can now see a Fanny Amelia being born in Collingwood, Melbourne to the surname of MOREY,

and,

a sister to this Fanny has the same unusual middle name of "Glanville" as the birth record of a possible daughter that I found born to Henry and Fanny in 1880 in New Zealand.

So, a little progress has been made.  Hopefully we can build further on it.

Hi AB,

Do you know where and where Henry GOODALL died? His wife's death notice described him as 'late' so it was prior to 1932.

Hi Spades,

I found a Death record for him in 1886 in the District of Ashfield, NSW.  Parents names match perfectly.

hi australia bound,

I saw from you a you request for family history. I don't know how much you have found but I have full details of the arrival in australia of  William Goodall and Fanny Bryce who arrived in Australia ( Van Diemens Land ) in the early 1800's and married 3.10.1836. I have full details of all sorts of things. I also have the family tree from1809 to 1979. I still have to finish from my mother to this year.
