Hi Epiphyas,

I am researching my Ruffle/ Pung ancestors and came across your post. I think that my 5x5 grandmother Elizabeth Ruffle (b abt 1757) might be a sister of Jeffrey Pung Ruffle (b 1770). That is their parents were Golding Ruffle and Mary Pung.

I am very new to Rootschat, so probably need to do a few more posts before I can send a PM, but would be very interested in chatting to you because I also live in Canberra.

Kind Regards, blujay

Hi bluejay

My records have a sister of Jeffery Pung Ruffle as Elizabeth Ann Ruffle, baptised 1765 in Little Cornard who married an Abraham Slater in 1785.

Welcome to Rootschat, you need to have made 3 postings before you can PM

Hi Geoff,

Oh my goodness, that IS my Elizabeth, she did marry Abraham Slater and they had 11 children.

Your record of their marriage doesn't happen to say who Abraham's parents were, my hunch is Gabriel Slater and Sarah Turner.

Many thanks, blujay.

The record only states he was "of the Parish of  St. Gregory Sudbury in Suffolk".
They married 25 Oct 1785 in Wickham St. Paul, Essex

I have not followed this line any further. Elizabeth's father Golding Ruffle had an elder brother Jeffery Ruffle, who was my 6x great grandfather.

Would be more than happy to swap info with you.

Hi Geoff,

Thanks again for the info on Abraham. Yes it'd be great to chat more, this will be my third post, so I should be good to go with a PM now.
