Does anyone have any information of the families of Henry John Jolly b 1844 ( M Emily Louisa Goodenough b1848) and his father Benjamin Jolly b1811( M Mary Chinery b1811) who were both Blacksmiths in the village of Garboldisham Norfolk? or know of the whearabouts of the old Forge, which later became a garage?

The burial PRs of St John the Baptist, Garboldisham, Norfolk record the following 2 burials which may very well be yours?
09/06/1861, Benjamin JOLLY, aged 50
06/02/1869, Mary JOLLY, aged 58

Think Mary may have told a little fib..this looks like her -BUT it isn`t Garboldisham..?? so only a possible
Mary Chinery baptised 17th sep 1816 at Particular Baptist Church,Salhouse,Norfolk
parents Benjamin Chinery and Elizabeth

allan
ADDED....It`s a long way from Salhouse to Garboldisham...so I think this baptism is a bit suspect !!!

I visited Garboldisham about 12 years ago, looking for information on John Jolly, Benjamin's father.    He was my 3 x great grandfather.  I tried to find the Old Forge, but without success, although I do have a photo of it as it was plus one of the church where the Jollys were married and buried.  Is there any way to upload photos to this site?

Hi There,
I live near Garboldisham. Are you looking for the forge or the blacksmiths shop? as they were two different places.
