Hi Gillie,
If you request a look - up , someone may be going to Berwick Records Office. They are transcribed into books so it is not a difficuly look-up.
If you are still stuck by early April give me a PM and I will be going in soon after that. Presently abroad.
Regards,
BigOoms.

Gillie,
Look at the Directory for Berwick upon Tweed. 1806.( on-line)
May not be relevant but there is a Master Slater. William Weatherston listed. She does live there in 1881.   Joseph may be from there too.

Gillie,
The Newcastle Courant, 1 Jan 1820, reported the marriage -
"Thursday se'nnight, Mr Wm Weatherstone, slater, to Miss Christian Sutherland, daughter of Mr Alexander Sutherland, Innkeeper, all of Berwick". But I can't find a Parish record of the event.

In the absence of marriage details and ".... no children ....", what is the source of Isabella's surname before marriage "Thompson"? I've checked the Census 1841-1881 and no clue there. What I did find unusual was the consitency of Isabella's calculated year of birth - always 1804 ( including even 1841!)

Familysearch has an Isabella Thompkins, born 31/1/1804 and christened 18/2/1805, Chapel Street or Shaws Lane or Relief Chap, United Berwi, Berwick upon Tweed (batch no C080401). That's the closest I can find on line

I photographed that inscription at Chirnside when I visited 2 years ago - it well illustrates how flexible they were about spelling: Clezy-Clezie-Claizey-Clazey all refer to members one family, Helen Carr and Helen Kerr are the same person.

In Memory of Helen Carr Wife of James Clezy who died 15th April 1826 Aged 62 years.
(Several women were named Helen Kerr or Carr - the one who married James Clazie / Clezie, etc. seems to have been born 29 Nov 1764 at Ayton, parents William Kerr & Margaret Burn.)

Also Joseph Clezie their son who died May 18th 1823 aged 23 years.
(Joseph was the 8th child of Helen Kerr & James Clezie, baptized 20 July 1803 at Fogo,.  He died age 23 - from an accident, illness, or maybe a fight?)

The said James Clezie died on the 8th June 1833 aged 66 years.
(This is Helen Kerr’s husband.  He was baptized 26 Oct 1766 at Edrington so was age 66 when he died in 1833.)

Also Margaret Claizey wife of Thomas Taucher who died Nov 23 1856 aged 65 years.
(Margaret was the 2nd child of Helen Kerr & James Clezie, born Feb 1789 at Polwarth, so was actually 67 when she died in 1856.  I have her death certificate, which says she died of cancer, at Hutton Hall Barns.)

Also James Clazey son of the above James Clazey who died at Hutton 8th Dec 1860 aged 58 years.
(James was the 7th child of Helen Kerr & James Clezie; he was baptized 24 April 1802 at Fogo; married Janet “Jessie” Brodie, 27 May 1825 at Hutton.)
Clezie (Clazie, Clezy, Clazy, Clazey, Claise, etc.), Lockhart, Heiser, Schwab, Tomon, Zarnowski, Megert, Iseli
