Hi Bob what a tremendous thing you have done, congratulations on your hard work. It is not something I can use myself but a much needed site for countless people, well done and thankyou.                              kind regards Sue

I think is a good idea, I can't think of any other categories other than a general comments column. Other matters could arise from that?

Thank you for your comments.

The database has been up and running since May 2013 but unfortunately, very few people have been entering their data. At the moment there are only 24 records in the database, and 7 of those are just test-data.

You can see the database here:

» Reference Library (link at bottom of every RootsChat page)
» DBSIG - Database for Special Interest Groups
» Select "Travelling People"
or

Bob

I'm a new Roots-chatter- just joined last weekend. I'd love to add quite a few individuals to the traveller database (Townsleys, Kennedys, Campbells all in Scotland/Ireland) but when I click the Add Record option it doesn't open up a data sheet as per the instruction screenshot on how to add a record. I've posted three times so I should be allowed to use PM now. Or is there a different procedure? Forgive a newbie asking lots of questions :)
Thanks
Joycie

Hi Joycie,

Welcome to Rootschat :)

That sounds strange: are you getting a message, that you need to be logged on, or to be able to use the PM system ?

regards,
Bob

Hi Berlin-Bob, when I click the Add Record button it then says members contact each other using Personal Messages. This will now be my 4th or 5th post so I should be able to PM. Any ideas about what's happening or what I could do? Advice much appreciated, Joycie

Hi Joycie,

I don't have a lot of time at the moment, so I've temporarily removed the check for number of PMS until I have time to study it more closely.

Please try again :)

regards,
Bob

Hi Berlin-Bob

That's it, it works! I'll start adding people as soon as I can, probably over the weekend. Thanks for your help :)
