Hello you two  :)

Is this any help at all:

http://cadw.wales.gov.uk/docs/cadw/publications/Urban_Character_Blaenau_Ffestiniog_EN.pdf

I've been through the addresses but can't find it so far under any of the spellings.

Added -the link was originally to Diffwys Square but it seems to have got lost!  Put Diffwys in the Find box and step through

Thanks both, Yes I looked at that document last night brevitas, its an interesting read with some good images.  I have also trawled through the Diphwys River schedules but will have another go now I have Duffws.

Apparently there was something about leases at Diphwys in 1799-1811 which I gleaned from the details on the 1914 Festiniog map that came in the post today.  Duffws station is shown but there may be roads or terraces that are just off the edge of the map.
Thanks for the ideas, regards Gareth

Best I can come up with is that it's close to Lord Street  :-\

Hi both
I have done districts 1, 2, 3 and 6, and I have come up with something that may say Duffws in RG12/4647 schedule 304 in district 6 (51 of 55) check the handwriting but no Thomas Jones!

I've also done district 4b which contains Lord St. still no success.

Hi Gareth

Nothing so far - there is a Thomas Jones, tailor, with a wife, Elizabeth,  around the correct age in Ffestiniog but not him  :-\  I don't see him in the 1901 either and, so far,  don't see a death/burial, although, as you said, Elizabeth is showing as married. It's very odd.
