Look-up request and info.
John Campbell married Jannett Dunnett in Barony 2.2.1849.Two children John b 5.6.1854 and Janet 27.7.1851.
Could anyone do a cencus look-up for 1851 and 1861 for this family?

Hi, I've looked at 1861 names index, so far I've been unable to find this family. There are many Campbells, but can't yet match a John, Janet with children of same name.

I know,John Campbell is much like John Smith!
Looked up Scotlands people yesterday and found out that Janet Dunnett died in 1856, at 76 George St in Hutchesontown, Glasgow city.Had cholera for 4 days!
I am not sure in Hutchesontown is the same place as Barony.
 Be really gratefull if you could you let me know if John,with son and daughter are still in Hutchesontown in 1861?

Hi, There are no signs of them in Hutchesontown.

I've tried all the Johns age 7/8, all are with both parents except one, but there is no Janet with them, so can't be certain that it is them.
Do you know where the father was born? The one in the index was born Roseneath, DNB.

Sorry I could'nt be more helpful.

Thanks for looking.
No not sure where his father was born I am afraid.This would be Roseneath Dublin wouldnt it.? I know John junior married an Irish girl so there is a vague link that I know about.
On Janets death cert her husband was a machine  ?stoker.Is an occupation listed for couple in Hutchesontown?
Could be Janet died as well I suppose,so is a possible.
Not sure where John junior went until  1878 when he married in Port Glasgow.

Hi, In 1861 index it has Roseneath DNB which stands for Dunbartonshire. index has no occupations listed.
I've checked all the Jane(t) Campbells in 1861 and she's not there, well not in Glasgow.  There is the possibility that they moved to Renfrewshire, as John Jnr was married there, but that's just a guess.
I did find a Janet and John in Hutchiestown in the 1851 index aged 26 and 29 resp. with a three year old John, but this index has no birth places. What age was Janet when she died?

Janet was aged 31 on death cert. Parish records said John was born 1854,but he was 3rd child.Janet was 2nd b 1851.Could have been a John NO1 I suppose.

Hi, Looks like it could be possible that that is John and Janet in 1851 index, age does fit in with Janet's death.
Looks like this could be child no. 4

GEORGE LAPRAIK CAMPBELL
  Male

~~~~~~~~
Event(s):
 Birth:  07 JUL 1856   Hutchesontown, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland
 Christening:
 Death:
 Burial:
~~~~~~~~
Parents:
  Father:  JOHN CAMPBELL  Family
  Mother:  JANET DUNNET

I can't find George in 1861 index
Do you know what John's (snr) occupation was?
I think I found John (born Roseneath in 1861 index) in the 1881 census aged 60, living as a lodger, occupation was a Railway Porter, does he tie in?

Regards

Thanks,you have been a tremendous help,...really.
It would look like them.John Campbell is pretty common,but not married to a Janet Dunnett.
 George was number one child and he died.I will check death certs.
So if that is him...which looks pretty much like,then John senior was born in Rosneath Dunbartonshire?
On John Juniors marriage cert in 1878 he was classified as a working engineer,...but who knows perehaps he got tired?! Was this in Hutchesontown?
