Edward Hall and Wife Sarah Ann
« on: Thursday 27 December 12 05:16 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,
Can someone help me with the following please...
On the 1891 census  I have the following family living in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.
Edward Hall  Head  39 Fisherman born Kirton, Skeldyke Lincolnshire.
Sarah Ann  Wife  35 Born Holbeach Lincolnshire
Son Thomas aged 7 born Walton Yorkshire (not sure)
Dau Mary aged 5 born Grimsby
Son Edward aged 2 born Grimsby
There are others living with this family, who appear to be mine, but I really need to establish exactly who the above are.
Firstly I have been unable to find a marriage for Edward and Sarah Ann.
Also I have not been able to locate them on the 1901 or 1911 census.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes to all for 2013
Pat.

From FamilySearch:

Edward Pearson HALL (27), son of Thomas HALL married Sarah Ann WILLIAMSON (21), daughter of John WILLIAMSON in Hobeach on 5 Oct 1881.

There is a possible death for Sarah aged 38 in Mar Q 1897. (Caistor 7a 433)

Also a possible remarriage for Edward Pawson HALL in Mar 1899?

As a fisherman, he may have been away from home on other census nights, which isn't helpful!

Hi Geoff,
Yes, that could certainly be the one.  And as Rambler says Edward's father is Thomas Hall. That fits nicely too.
Thank you very much for your help.
Cheers,
Pat.

Hi Rambler,
Thank you.  You have been a great help with the information that Edward's father is Thomas Hall. That fits in nicely.
Edward's age is about right too.  Hopefully I can now take it a little further.
I really appreciate your help.
Cheers,
Pat.

Hello Ladyhawk,
Thank you for information.
I really don't know about your 1901 census, I think I would need to see the original.
On the other hand I think the 1911 census is right.
I have seen a copy of the 1911 previously and Edward Hall is on the vessell "Sisters" unfortunately I wasn't looking for his new wife Maria at that time, as I didn't know his first wife had died.  I see there is a Maria Hall on a vessell, so I am hoping someone may see this and have a look to see if it is the the same vessell that Edward is on.
The information on Edward's son Edward looks very promising, I haven't had time to look into the children as yet.
I really appreciate the help you have given me. I feel I have furthered my research into Edward Hall quite a bit from my posting.
Cheers,
Pat
