I have quite a few youngs in my tree in Ayr:

James Young married Janet Walker in 1815
their child James Young married a Margaret Love in 1841
their child James Young married Margaret Hutchison in 1864
their children:
Ellen or Helen young born 1864
Thomas Young born 1866
Hugh Young born 1871
George Young born 1873
John Young born 1875
William Young born 1878
Alexander Young born 1880
Margaret Young born 1882
Annie Young born 1884

I haven't yet researched the family in detail so i do not know of any more Youngs at present

Hi Amy,there could be a connection although i havent got the wives you mention in my line but your J ames could be a brother to my John.Where were your youngs born Amy.My William was born 1877 Dallmellington his parents were John Young and Agnes Twaddle.Johns parents were Robert Young and Elizabeth Stewart.All my Youngs come from Closeburn,Auckinleck,Dallmellington,and Sorn.If you think there is a connection please get in touch.Anne.

Hi Anne,

They all seem to be born in Newmilns and Galston although previously some are from Sorn, Kilmarnock, Loudoun and Catrine. Does this fit with any of your information?

Hi Amy,sorry for the delay,i have been decorating and i also work full time so its been a bit of a nightmare.Anyway this is a rough breakdown of my Youngs so far.
Grandmother Jean Wilson Young born 1900 at Auckinleck.
Grt Grandparents were William Young and Jessie Lammie,William was born Dalmellington 1877.
Grt Grt Grandparents were John Young and Agnes Twaddle,John i think was born in Old cumnock.
Grt Grt Grt Grandparents were Robert Young and Elizabeth Stewart,i think also Robert was born Old Cumnock as thats where he married Elizabeth in 1826.
Grt Grt Grt Grt Grandparents were Hugh Young and ??Russle,i am not 100% certain on these 2 yet but i know that William Young my Grt Grandfather had a sister named Elizabeth Russle Stewart Young born in Dallmellington in 1869,his other Siblings were Robert born 1871Agnes born Dallmellington 1874 James born ? and died 1973 Dallmellington and last was Janet born 1866 Auckinleck.There could have been another brother John but not sure of him yet.Another thing Janet had the middle name of Ainging i have no idea where that name comes from.Anyway Amy sorry again for the delay and let me know what you think.Anne.
