How do I open startup repair for windows?
POSTEES: If possible, PLEASE, scan your images at 300 - 600 dpi, for both ease of restoration and best results
RESTORERS: Feel free to change/improve/colour any restorations posted by myself.  Acknowledgment would be appreciated.

Have a look at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Startup-Repair-frequently-asked-questions if you are using Windows Vista

or type startup repair for windows into your seach engine (google, bing, a.n. other)

And if that does not help, ask again and say which Windows you are using  :)

Repeatedly jab at the F8 key whilst Windows is booting.  One of the options should be "Repair this computer".

Another way of doing it would be to boot up on the Windows 7 install CD, and one of the options should be "Repair this computer".

Do you need repair or restore, repair could remove your installed programmes.

Repair will re-install all the Windows core components.  It will not remove any non-Windows components, nor will it alter the registry. However, it will probably need to do updates because the versions from the install disk may not be the latest versions.
