cufflink and tie pin identification please

The cufflink insignia looks like a winged propeller with a crown above.  Any chance of a larger image?

hope this image is ok, made my son hold it, as it wouldn't sit in anyway that was clear!

I'm fairly certain they are not british, I thought the wings were possibly american, see picture.

Thanks John,  American is not out of the question, The Great Uncle in whose belongings they were found was, according to one letter we found, employed in secret work during the war, and we have a photo of him, with lots of other men, sat around a table, its referred to in the family as the "war room picture" from his time in Santa Barbara... !

I would say that PrueM has got it right with that Swedish Airforce flag. It has the same crown, propellor and wings.

I think the pin looks like a torpedo (with propellers) rather than a bomb or missile.
 
Not the same tie pin - but here is a duck on a torpedo supposed to be from WW2

I wonder if the concept of a duck on a torpedo is a common one (a sort of sitting duck joke) and novelty items were made either in WW2 or later on?

The tie pin!
A duck riding on what can only be a torpedo I would say. Cannot think of any other type of bomb that would need a propellor. So it could be a Squadron tie pin for Torpedo bombers, or it could even be for something like those brave Italian chaps who rode into enemy harbours on specially adapted topedos to attach them to enemy shipping.

Wish you luck with that. Unless one of the terrific experts on here comes to the rescue, I can only suggest that you find a Military expert and show it to him/her.

Thats great! thanks Salty and Milly,  I hadn't thought of the "sitting duck" idea, I was rather puzzled.  As I said, we're not sure that there is any military connotation, however, they were with the Uncles papers, which explained an awful lot!! thanks both!
